RESOURCES RESERVATION IN A REACTIVE QoS SCHEME

چکیده
User Services Assistant (USA) is a novel reactive QoS agent that provides facilities for managing user to user QoS in Internet environments. By being reactive, it overcomes the problems associated with QoS management schemes that have been proposed to date, such as the mapping of the QoS parameters to end system parameters, and pre-determining the optimum way of degrading/upgrading the QoS. However, for the reactive QoS scheme to be fully functional, it is necessary to provide facilities for end to end parameter negotiation, and to obtain support for resource reservation from the underlying systems. This paper provides an evaluation of the reactive QoS management paradigm, and its network resource reservation requirements. We show that reactive QoS management schemes requires sender initiated resource reservation, and if such a scheme can be provided, it can be used to provide effective and practical QoS management by using an implementation of USA over a sender initiated resource reservation scheme.

Resource Reservation for Adaptive QOS Mapping in Real-Time Mach
In this paper, we describe an adaptive QOS mapping scheme where the QOS parameters of applications are mapped into resource requirements dynamically, and the resources for the applications are reserved based on the measured resource utilization. Real-Time Mach provides resource reservation facilities that are suitable for supporting the adaptive QOS mapping scheme, and we show the e ectiveness ...

متن کاملUTILISING SIGNAL MEASUREMENT IN BANDWIDTH RESERVATION SCHEME FOR QOS PROVISIONING IN MULTIMEDIA WIRELESS NETWORKS Prihandoko
Next generation multimedia wireless networks require guaranteed quality of service (QoS) over the duration of mobile connections, and also require efficient use of network resources. In this paper, bandwidth reservation scheme is proposed for QoS provisioning in multimedia wireless networks. The proposed scheme integrates user mobility information obtained by measuring Received Signal Strength ...
متن کاملA Directionally-based Bandwidth Reservation Scheme for Call Admission Control
This paper proposes a new advanced Call Admission Control (CAC) strategy involving for the first time, a bandwidth reservation scheme that is influenced by the direction attribute of a mobile terminal (MT). Aside from the Quality-of-Service (QoS) parameters, the direction attribute plays a key role in efficiently reserving resources for MTs supporting multimedia communications for different QoS...
متن کاملFH-RSVP scheme for intra-site handover in hierarchical mobile IPv6 networks
This paper proposes a new RSVP and Mobile IP interworking scheme, called FH-RSVP, to support QoS of real-time applications in mobile environments. FH-RSVP uses unicast sender-oriented RSVPs with HMIPv6 protocol and makes anticipated reactive resource reservations based on fast handover principles when an intra-site handoff can happen to WLAN access radio medium. Simulation results show that our...
